Employees by region

As of December 31, 2008, the Heraeus Group employed a workforce of 12,830 around the world. This is an increase of 955 employees over the previous year (11,875). A majority of those additions, 675 (9.2 %), came from the acquisitions carried out during the financial year. However, new employees were also hired for various fields that are experiencing strong growth. Germany added 113 employees.
